My Timpi Journey – A Timpi Community Story

Hello, I’m OlaBero! I’m over 50, a lifelong worker still at the job where my career began. My irregular hours give me the flexibility to be available anytime—day or night.

In my younger days, I was active, playing soccer and table tennis. Later, I fell in love with cycling, conquering the grueling Vätternrundan (300 km) 10 times and competing in inline skating races. Inline skating was my main mode of transport back then! These days, I’ve slowed down, focusing on:

• Caring for our home
• Supporting my wife through her skin cancer journey (diagnosed 15 months ago)
• Managing my Validator webpage and community
• My full-time job
• My role as a Timpi admin

My adventure with Timpi began on day one when I stumbled upon the IDO on KDLaunch. I jumped in headfirst, purchasing my first-ever server. Today, I run two servers and a mini PC, powering multiple nodes. I’m no computer enthusiast, but I’ve made it all work! I’ve spent countless hours learning:

• Linux
• Proxmox
• OPNSense
• HTML

While I’m no expert, modern resources make anything possible. I currently manage a Validator, several Collectors, Guardians, and Synaptrons. I built my first webpage—though design isn’t my forte. Still, I’m proud of some unique features, like pulling live data from the Validator for display.

I’m eagerly awaiting the next node sale to complete my collection of node NFTs. Timpi’s use of NFTs as software keys is genius—fetch one from your wallet, and the node springs to life!

What drew me to Timpi was my frustration with Google’s ads, sponsored content, and data dominance. I missed the internet’s early days, using AltaVista and Yahoo before Google took over and was really awesome—until around 2018, when I grew disillusioned. Big tech’s control over data indexes feels unbreakable, but Timpi’s mission to challenge that monopoly inspires me. I’m all in for their vision to reshape the internet.

I'm most excited about Timpi's search engine, of course, but also the Timpi AI, Wilson, and watching the Timpi community thrive.
