My Timpi Journey – A Timpi Community Story
Timpi - It's time to get involved.
Remembering back to the first time I met Jörg. It was on my front lawn, with him in his motorcycling gear. Reaching out his hand saying "Hi, I'm Jörg from Germany and I'm going to be your maybe new neighbour".
Very soon he was my new neighbour and then a friend.
I was a very late adopter to the smart phone and I was also always a little wary of doing things online. As for forums and chat rooms, they were a definite no-go area.
Chatting with Jörg, usually over a coffee, I became totally intrigued with his ideas of internet security, his specialist field. Being a non-techie, I was always engaged when he talked about all these things IT that I had no idea about at all.
Then came his idea for Darkscope and developing and training his computers for the AI that would be the backbone of this business. WOW, is that possible, I thought.
A few years later over a coffee he started telling me about his vision for a decentralised search engine. That one really hooked me, totally fascinated in the potential for that. I wanted to be part of what I knew would be revolutionary.
I probably became a bit of a nuisance for him then. Every time I saw him I wanted to know how it was going, getting him to educate me in the workings of what, by now, he was calling Timpi. Crypto currency, what the hell is that? How does that work? Tell me again how it all fits together? A thousand questions.
Then, Jörg approached me, asking if I had some money to help him keep this idea moving forward. I agreed, with a handshake, that he could repay me in Timpi tokens when they offered them for sale. With that I became the first investor in Timpi.
I bought tokens again in the second round, bought a new computer to run a "Collector" before the NFT's were introduced. Then I bought a Founder NFT to keep my Collector running. I stake my tokens with 5 validators and enjoy the ride that the project offers.
I'm still not technical enough to engage with the Timplar quests on social media yet. But I do talk to many people about the project.
My partner and I decided that to help this project along that we needed to ground this outer world of AI with the inner nature of the planet. In other words, give AI a heart. We wanted to connect the WWW to the World Wide Wood, nature's internet. Jörg thought this was an interesting concept, techie meets esoteric. It's definitely not going to hurt the project and maybe even help in some way.
With Jörg and a small group of people we had a little ceremony planting the "Timpi Tree", a walnut tree.
A video of this event will be released in the future.
I totally believe in this project, I believe in the team that are developing the project and I believe in the community behind it. An amazing group of people, from all around the world, coming together to make a difference. For me, this is not about the money, this is all about people. The community is the heart.
